Philanthropy holds a significant place in our hearts as sorority women. Kappa is made up of women who want to make a difference. Each quarter, we do our part to serve our community, whether it be by volunteering at Grace Gardens, The Pantry on campus, or the local elementary schools. Participating in community service activities is an empowering way for each member to give back to a community that has given so much to us.
In addition, every quarter we hold a philanthropy event where all proceeds are donated to various philanthropic organizations. We also hold annual Reading is Key events, which are sponsored by our national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. At these events we team up with a local Boys & Girls Club to donate books and do crafts with the kids.
The Epsilon Omicron chapter at UC Davis provides the resources and opportunities for our innovative women to foster new ways to serve others and change lives -- oftentimes changing our own along the way.
During fall quarter we host Kappaccino, one of our signature philanthropy events that comes just in time for a break during midterms season! We open up the Kappa house and serve unlimited Dutch Bros. and baked goods to support our national partner organization, Reading is Fundamental, which is the nation’s largest children’s literacy non-profit.
Our winter philanthropy is Kappa Karaoke, where we host an entertaining karaoke competition that can be heard across campus! For this event, we donate all proceeds to a local organization. Last year, we supported WEAVE, Inc. which provides crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County.
Get your game face on! Our spring event is Kappa Kickball. We invite a number of on-campus organizations, including Greek life and sports teams, to compete in a kickball tournament on Hutchinson Field. This event supports The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, which gives back to our members through educational programming and scholarships.
