Chapter Philanthropy
Philanthropy holds a significant place in our hearts as sorority women. Kappa is made up of women who want to make a difference. As a chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, we specifically support a variety of mental health organizations that aim to support those who need it. We are proud to support our community and our members in topics related to mental health and illness.
Each quarter, we do our part to serve our community in all realms, whether it be by volunteering at Grace Gardens, The Pantry on campus, or partnering with local organizations such as the Davis Fire Department for donation drives. Participating in community service activities is an empowering way for each member to give back to a community that has given so much to us. In addition, every quarter we hold a philanthropy event where all proceeds are donated to various philanthropic organizations that all support mental health and illness. Through these events, we are able to involve the Davis community in raising funds for the organizations that mean so much to us as Kappa women.
The Epsilon Omicron chapter at UC Davis provides the resources and opportunities for our innovative women to foster new ways to serve others and change lives – oftentimes changing our own along the way.
Fall Quarter-
During fall quarter we host Kappaccino, one of our signature philanthropy events that comes just in time for a break during midterms season! We open up the Kappa house and serve unlimited coffee and baked goods to support our national partner organization, National Alliance on Mental Illness, which is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Winter Quarter-
Our winter philanthropy is Kappa Karaoke, where we host an entertaining karaoke competition that can be heard across campus! We donate all proceeds from this event to a local organization. Last year, we supported WEAVE, Inc. which provides crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County.
Spring Quarter-
Get your game face on! Our spring event is Bump, Set, Kappa. We invite a number of on-campus organizations, including Greek life and sports teams, to compete in a spikeball tournament on the UC Davis campus. For this event, we donate all proceeds to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. As members of this chapter, Kappa Kappa Gamma is dedicated to becoming a powerful advocate for mental health and well-being.
Here are some of the organizations that we are proud to have raised thousands of dollars to support!
