Dear Future PNMs,

Hello all !! My name is Mia and I am so thrilled to be this year's VP membership chair!
I applied for this position because when I was a freshman I had never planned on rushing, but
with a push from my mother I did. I thank her almost every day for making me do it. Coming to
Davis all the way from New York I felt all alone. I think the first time I took a deep breath was
when I was at the Kappa house. I was equally amazed and comfortable with everyone I met. I
quickly realized that this group of women were so uniquely different. They all had so much
balance: being extremely intelligent, compassionate, and hilarious individuals.
Not only did Kappa’s impress me during recruitment, but continually encouraged me to be my
best self. Whether it is aiding me through a breakup, helping me study when I want to give up,
being so determined in their goals that I feel inspired myself, or always having people down for
a dance party, I am so glad to have a place to go in both my highs and my lows.
So if you are looking for someone to give you that push, let this be it! This is just my story, but
every Kappa member has one just like it. It can be intimidating to put yourself out there, but
finding a place where you can be yourself and supported is definitely worth it. We can’t wait to
